40 years ago, Ieuan opened his butcher’s shop in Conwy aged 20 determined to make it one of the best in the UK. Throughout all those years we have remained true to our core values of service, quality, locally sourced Welsh products, pride in our heritage and support for our local community.  We're so proud of our team who work so hard day in, day out. Dave Malloy, our general manager, has been with Ieuan from the start and our other two managers Terry Elliott and Neil Hughes over 30 years each, a rarity today. Including Ieuan they have 140 years experience between them! 

To top off our 40th year we have won Best Butchers Shop Wales & West Country at the prestigious Butcher's Shop Of The Year Awards in Birmingham on 22nd May. The Butcher's Shop of the Year awards look to honour and celebrate quality, commitment and achievement in the UK butchery industry. This annual event aims to find the best of the best across six regions spanning the UK, as well as rewarding quality displays, online retail, teams and trainees, amongst other notable categories. Following hundreds of entrants, the expert panel of judges narrowed it down to a handful of well-deserved finalists at this year’s event. Edwards Of Conwy took the title of best in Wales & West Country, we were noted for our excellent marketing strategy and staff retention. Dave Malloy, our general manager and who has been at Edwards for 40 years, was there to accept the award. Ieuan said of the win "We are delighted to win such a prestigious award, being crowned as the best butcher in Wales and the west country is wonderful, especially this year as we are also celebrating 40 years in business”.

This award is a testament to all our staff who through their hard work, skill and commitment, have made Edwards of Conwy what it is and still continues to be
